I really should stop going on Ebay.

Ok, So I'm waiting for the football to start, so I'm scanning through Ebay, looking for silver bargains. By the time I've stopped, I've won 5 auctions, spent £58.57, on various silver from 0.500, 0.900, 0.925 and a 0.999 1995 ASE, for a total of 4.24 oz t.

Still it doesn't do my average any harm, only £13.81 oz t.

I need to stop because i'm trying to save for a decent order from STG..

Come on HT, get some discipline....

I don't really bother too much now with old junk silver as it's often fairly underweight.  If the online listing includes the weight I might have a go but if the coins are 20% underweight you may as well pay VAT on something new.

It really depends on what you pay for the junk silver. If you pay spot price of £12.30 for 1 oz t and it's 20% underweight, that means you have 0.8 oz t worth of silver

£12.30 for 0.8 oz t equates to £15.38 per oz t.

There are not many new silver coins to can get to your door for that sort of price.

i agree. With prices around $21/oz I see it as a time to stock up on bullion more than anything, and eBay can be a happy hunting ground if you are persistent.
