Release Date for 2023 Proof Britannias?

I really should keep up with this but was wondering if any had an inkling as to the release date of the 2023 proof Britannias? Rather too much schlock these days from the Royal Mint but have tried to keep up with these in the lesser denominations at least, even the platinums but not those huge goldies....

Yes, that is my recall. I do not recall getting notification by the RM and so had to cobble together those pieces I wanted. So, if pattern holds even with Charlie as the monarch then it should be fairly soon. Please do not do the Charlie obverse with dumbo ears!

Looks like they're going live today. Royal Mint currently has the preparing to launch new product message.

BBP are getting them too - https://www.bullionbypost.co.uk/royal-mint-proof-collections/proof-britannia-2023/

Can't see anything on Chards or Atkinsons as yet.

Disclosure - I work in the precious metals industry, however this is my personal account and all opinions are my own.

One word - hideous.

Probably still buy it to keep the collection complete. Will wait till it drops in the secondary market and some other sucker grades it.

I think the coin looks good... At least they didn't overload us with too many versions like last year

Seriously, mer-horses with mutant webbed feet (???!!!!).

How did this design get approved? Is this the spirit of Britannia?

'The figure of the seahorse was important in Ancient Greek mythology, and it was the half-equine half-aquatic ‘Hippocampus’ that pulled the chariot of Poseidon, God of the Sea. This monstrous creature combined an equine head (from the Greek ‘hippo’ or horse) with a serpent, fish, or seahorse-like tail (‘campus’ meaning sea monster). The Hippocampus featured on coins of the Roman empire, meaning Jonathan’s design, just like Britannia, is rooted in both ancient history and modern times.'

Not all historical depictions though have had those awful flipper hooves!🤔

Im looking at the silver (cant afford gold atm). The single coins have a mintage number, but the 6 coin set doesnt. Anyone know what the mintage is of the 6 coin set?

Would be nice to have next to my 1997 set.

Who's bought the 6 coin set on here?

Ive ordered mine but wondering if i should have gone for 2x1oz or a 2oz now for investment potential.

Yes, i know its silver and not gold but its better to have a little win rather than a little loose.

A lot is down to cost. The six coin sets are a lot more expensive now, so any future selling on may be a bit more difficult than for any of the individual coins. However, the bonus is that the six coin has coins that are not otherwise available. Also, probable candidates to get all or some slabbed.🤔🫢
