Thank you,I thought it was going for a good deal and knew it was low mintage so was happy with what I paid from what I saw previous ones going for! ☺️

Thank you!

Why don't you tell us what you do know, which will make it easier and more interesting for other people to fill in the gaps for you and tell you what you don't know?

...

otherwise they risk wasting their time telling you what you already know but had not bothered mentioning!

Has £313 of actual gold weight.

What did you pay?

I like to buy the pre-dip rise.

In 2015 we had the introduction fifth QEII portrait, and so gold sets were issued featuring the fourth portrait and the fifth portrait.

In my "Coins of England" (2022, p.150) it states that there were 209 gold sets (1p-£2) of the fourth head, and 245 gold sets of the fifth head.  As your  gold 1p has the IRB head it means there were 209 of them released as part of these sets.

Is it gold? It looks really good to me.

Yes it's 22 carat, with copper! Has a nice copper tinge to it ☺️

I didn't know anything about it other than it's a penny and I wanted a good penny 😅

I've seen them higher at a dealer tbf, but it looks handled and its been brought to my attention by a very diverse collector, very much in the know, that spot + 3% is where they realistically trade at.

£320-£350 possibly at a stretch 🤔

I like to buy the pre-dip rise.

I've just been informed by @PapaLazarou that there were a further 99 examples in the annual gold set - making a total of 308 for the fourth head gold 1p.

You know how much you paid for it, who from, when, and a lot more than you realise.

TSF is highly educational!

When I first saw your title, I was hoping it was going to be about the rare gold penny of Henry III.

They used to do two-tone gold £2, I always thought they looked rather impressive.
