Is it worth splashing out on a coin that has been through the trial of the Pyx?

Exact reason why i haven't and was happy to upload the above. That kind of money i want it perfect to grade and try and keep the value.

Hi Im not from the UK so I don't really know much about this but was wondering why these Trail of Pyx coin are 2021 and not 2022? Also do anyone know if there special packaging for Trail of Pyx coins or will they just use the same packaging as the normal version.

The smaller coins come in Trial of the Pyx tamper evident blister cards, whereas the larger ones come in their usual boxes but with a special COA as far as I know.

It does seem weird that they test coins around a year after they would have been sold or gone into circulation (bit too late to do anything about any issues that are found!), but that's how it is 🤷‍♂️

Are there any pretty heavy signs of use on your coins? And was wondering would you prefer The Trial of Pyx Coin or the normal version.

None of them would get anywhere near PF 70 I'd imagine. I guess that's not what it's about though.

As for the choice, for coins you like, the answer should always be "both" 🤣

The amount of damages varies coin to coin depending on how much they’ve been handled and how rigorously they’ve been tested. I’ve seen some with minor smudged and others with marks like someone scraped a knife over their surfaces.

I suppose the exclusivity of these is that they’ve been tested at the Trial of the Pyx.

For grading, I’ve also seen NGC encapsulate the certicard itself into the plastic holder.

I think it's safe to say they will all be damaged to some extent or another by virtue of the way they are packaged for the trial....

It doesnt seem like Ngc graded this coin at all, it look like they just encase it and call it a day.

I think that's the right thing to do. You can't grade a coin properly while it's still in sealed packaging like that, some parts won't even be visible.
