Hello all.

Looking to shift my gothic crown.

Didn’t sell at auction. St James is a well known auction house and they have a description in the picture which would be far better than I could tell you. They estimated it between £2800-£3200.

Im after a quick sale so the price is £1850 posted.

Would trade for gold or silver of same value so hit me with offers if needs be.

Any questions drop me a message.

Thanks

It’s nearly 1k under the est value by st James who are a well know auction house hence why I put the picture from the auction up.

It’s a lovely coin but I need the cash for the work I’m doing on my house, iv had the coin for just under 5 years I think and it’s been in my safe ever since so I don’t know when it was cleaned or repaired

No expert, but I don’t think you have done yourself any favours putting up the auction information. Not saying that you shouldn’t mention repairs, far from it, however, maybe some pictures of the edges showing that despite being ex mount it is ok. We all know that ex mount sovereign can be perfectly ok. However, when looking for particular florins or crowns if I read ‘cleaned’ then I think twice.

hope you manage to get a sale

You can look at two ways.

1. Yes it’s cleaned but it’s still a fantastic coin that many would love to own and it give some one with not so deep pockets a chance to own one. Hence the price.

2. you’ve got very deep pockets and you can afford to buy a graded gothic.

it’s as simple as that and I’d much rather show the auction picture and be fully transparent and honest about what I’m selling. It also gives you the point of view from and information also estimated price from an expert and some one that knows far more than us.

I have no doubt that if the uk wasn’t in such a bad place financially right now then this would sell for that price no problems but the truth is I need quick cash for my house.

It’s one of the crowns I have missing from my collection (no surprise) and would love to own this one, unfortunately don’t have the funds🤔, hopefully someone will see this as the bargain it is and take it off your hands.
