Graded 70 by the NGC, this beautifully crafted piece has an estimated price of £50,000 to £70,000.

Cheap for a 2oz gold coin !! 🤑🤣

Alternatively, £50K could get me 34oz of gold. Hmmm......🤔🤔🤔

the Product price is exclusive of VAT. A 25% buyer’s premium including VAT will added to the purchase price. Trail Pieces are subject to Standard VAT which accounts for the majority of the Buyer’s Premium. VAT on Trial Pieces can be reclaimed in the usual ways.

If only they lower their buyer's premium then I might be interested !  😆

It does seem silly for there to be a buyer's premium on this sort of thing in the first place considering it's simply being orchestrated through a web form, but it would have to be at least 20% for the VAT anyway.

Never really liked that coin personally. Just seems a bit boring.

I quite like the Una and the Lion design - the lion looks very earnest.  However, the originals are quite rare (only a few hundred minted I think) so they're silly expensive on the collectibles market.  I suppose if the Royal Munt did an anniversary bullion sov with the design I might buy one, but not at the prices they charge for proofs - I shall have to keep a look out circa 2039, I guess.

The Sovereign is the quintessentially British coin.  It has a German queen on the front, an Italian waiter on the back, and half of them were made in Australia.

Yep, never understood the love for this especially compared to the 3 graces.
