I have been watching this coin on eBay ( hoping to fill a gap ) and surprised at the bidding.
This is a fairly high mintage for Libertads - 1.5 million I believe.
Maybe harder to find due to lack of sellers but those of us with spares etc .....

Lol you think that's bad, look at the pricing for the 1oz 2022 reverse proof version, $380+!

Why are these so expensive when you can get a 2022 2oz reverse proof for like $280?

Does anyone know the mintages on the 2022 Libertad Proofs & Reverse Proofs?

According to a dealer website for 2021, 1oz silver proof mintage was 6,900 and 2oz silver proof was 2,500.

So mintages for 2022 probably around that ballpark.

Don't know about reverse proofs.

Ok thanks for that info!

I found some videos on YT about the reverse proofs and they all said the 1, 2 & 5 oz RP all only had 1,000 each for the last few years.  Initially when the RP came out, they were like 2500 mintage, but they've reduced that number down to 1000.

I could have sworn I read somewhere that 2022 was going to be the last year for either the Proofs or the Reverse Proofs.  Does anyone know anything about this?

2022 was also the 40th anniversary of the Libertads

It's crazy and sweet these and others like the Britannia's have such low mintages compared to US proofs which have like 250k lol.  Crazy they can produce that many proofs compared to the rest of the world mints that only do 1000-10000.

I just bought the 2022 proof and reverse proof Libertads for my collection.  So I can marks these off my list now.

I recently got back into coin collecting seriously since I was young.  I've been focusing on .999+ silver proofs, and honestly I couldn't have picked a better time.  The quality of the silver coins these days, as well as having proofs and reverse proofs, is allowing me to build an amazing collection of worldly treasure!
