Hello from the shire!

Hi tsf, I'm very sorry but I missed this thread 😬

Anyhoo.. I'm Ross, a traditional blacksmith and metal fabricator by trade, from Herefordshire UK. The smithing capital of the UK 🤘⚒️

I have just recently started stacking and collecting, the main aim of my collection is standard bullion to hand down to my 6 Yr old girl when she's old enough, so her life will be a bit easier than mine.. But I do secretly love it too 😁😊lol..

Anyways, nice to meet everyone, and look forward to chatting to you all in due course. Take care.

Hey Ross - welcome to the Forum!

Not often you hear of a Blacksmith these days, excellent trade to follow IMHO - If I wasn't a web dev I think Blacksmithing would have been my calling 😁 - or maybe I just like the fire and transforming metal into something useful 😊

Loads of info on here to help you - I've been a member almost 2 years and learnt such a lot from the helpful folks on here... but if I had to sum it up:

1) if you'll be buying, get a Premium Membership - just a Silver level one can pay for itself with your first deal.

2) Be careful if stacking Silver - the VAT on new stuff can prove troublesome, but again deals to be had on here (2nd and doesn't attract VAT in private sales)

3) You'll be drawn to the Yellow Shiny Metal a lot quicker than you expect - and it's highly addictive! (But it has to be one of the best ways to accumulate some wealth and satisfy the need for 'Retail Therapy' at the same time 👍)

4) Kiss goodbye to your disposable income... well, for a little while... then you'll want to start selling off your purchases to buy more Shiny stuff 😅

Above all - enjoy it! I've settled on Sovereigns for storing wealth, as they're easily converted back into cash when / if needed and some nice / unusual Silver pieces to satisfy my inner Magpie!

Cheers!

Bob
