Does Spanish Doubloon Bull Have The Best Anti-Counterfeiting System right now?

All that effort on counterfeiting, and none on the actual design. I can put up with a small horse **** on my Sovereigns, but that bull **** is a bit obscene, at least for this Torero.

Terrible QC as well, imagine using a comma instead a fullstop?! 🤣

On a serious note I do like to see security measures.

Having just spent the evening dismembering some "Swiss" items that go tick tock I can say these Chinese lads are on top of their game!

Wonder how long it'll be before the fakers perfect the clever security measure on the coin?

There is a flip-side to this story, how long before the Chinese can market a cheap metal analyser solution to us plebeians in the West?

Yes I'm aware, was a poor attempt at humour. :)

Best to stick to double entendre about masturbation.

The Sovereign is the quintessentially British coin.  It has a German queen on the front, an Italian waiter on the back, and half of them were made in Australia.

If Alibaba is to be believed, somebody's flogging XRF machines for about £1,900,  Pretty sure that's not right, though.  Also, good luck sourcing parts for it when it sh1ts its X-ray tube, or getting it calibrated.

I am not aware of the work of this Mr Pithon of which you speak? 😉

The Monty Pithon is the improved version of the Monty Python. Which is the original and which is the copy? It's hard to know.
