Hattons of London's latest masterpiece

I see they've upgraded to the 1/4 sovereign size (probably because the 1/8 is too tiny) Surprisingly, I expected them to be charging £225+, I guess they've cut costs by not using JC's portrait of QE, instead, going with this monstrosity.

I enjoy checking what they're churning out every now and then, as I bought one of their coins when I knew nothing whatsoever

They really did poor Lizzie rotten with that portrait. And I didn't think it could get more offensive than the Canadian's insult...

They actually do, because I bought my coin from them with Klarna, and klarna is a real annoyance to get refunds with, so I couldn't be bothered to send it back

To be far they do a 60 day no quibble guarantee and I bet they get an ex BBC news presenter for the advert Julie Etchingham in a catsuit might help.

To me all these pseudo sovereigns are typical marketing products, so they don’t bother me any more. What surprises me is Jody Clark’s involvement in the ‘Tribute’ Sovereign, designing both sides, with a slightly different obverse (but not allowed to use his RM 5th portrait?!)

However, this Tutankhamen set you like so much has the worst Queens portrait I’ve seen, perhaps comparable with one of the Royal Canadian Mints versions.

The 3 coin set - full, 1/2, 1/4, is selling for £1529. which @SiCole seems keen to buy!😀

I really do think they are awful.  I am not being unfair - small mints and independent producers of PM materials often do a great job with limited resources, but these coins are just terrible.
