Is this milk spotting? Or the result of moisture?

Sorry if it's blindingly obvious, I swear it wasn't there yesterday. I keep my silver in a wooden box, sometimes the capsules look a touch cloudy on the outside.

On a side note, should I get a moisture pack? Or will the capsules protect them?

Looks like milk spots ( as best as I can tell from pictures)

Unfortunately there's not a thing you can do to stop these, they can take days or even months to show 😪

Moisture will show as tarnish eventually ( depending on whats in the air at your storage location, sulphur etc)

One thing I will say,is depending on what finish is on the wooden storage box and how tight it seals when closed, then the wood will suck up Moisture and pass on the favor to the inside contents.

That's very helpful, thank you! It's not a particularly air tight box or anything, just one of those decorative Treasure chest type things, probably just painted and decorated plywood haha

Look into something like this as it should be airtite, still include a few moisture packs.

Look around for better prices though, as I'm sure they will pop up cheaper

Good suggestion! I'll look for something like this, thank you!

Just ask yourself how quickly you will fill it though, if quickly, then get something bigger instead of buying twice.

I have one of these except it is branded SentrySafe.  Please read the reviews as they may well tell you that the inside can become damp due to the materials used in the construction.  I keep moisture sensitive items in mine inside double-ziplock freezer bags or ziplock document pouches.

If fireproofing isn't necessary (silver is silver) then a PELI case might not be a bad choice.

e.g.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Peli-1060-interior-Black-exterior/dp/B001RUC7P8

etc.

Agreed, I don't use mine for PMs, I use it mainly for important documents.
