I expect the same for the first Sovereign to feature Charles III, makes RM's life much easier and also makes them more ££.

Also means everyone who wants to celebrate and have a memento of these one in a lifetime occasions are able to, meanwhile those just seeking to profit (by buying multiple, or flipping) have to find another source for this activity.

So what is everyone after this morning? I’m going for all three of possible. I’d love  to see a piedfort 50p in the release. All in silver proof but may be tempted with the gold 50p if available.

Aaaahhh😉

As I said in a previous post, I might be going for a 50 Silver proof - if they haven't upped the price to eye-watering levels - but that's only because I actually like the design, and am quite fond of commemorative 50p's in general.

Does anyone think they might be doing a limited run of a BU cupro-nickel pack(s) ?

Like they did with the 2 coin pack for Her Maj - the one with the 1952 mintage?  🤔

Surely there must be something that will be a bit 'rare' (and not in the sense of eBay 'Rare' either! 🤭)

If it doesn't hurry up I'm going to break down & head off to order Single Malt Scotch truffles instead.
They are on clearance at Fortnums right now, so they are only about £8 & at least I already know I like them at that price.

Above was meant to be on a whole different forum.

Meant to say...

My budget is pretty spent right now so I'm prob only interested in something 1oz or 2oz silver.
Won't be going for gold this time round.

It's a nonsense even those who are saying " I will never sell" want to have something that has a store of wealth and has future value, this is why people pay a premium  if they knock these out in unlimited numbers, can't deliver for months and have the same old quality issues then everyone might as well wait and pick them up on the secondary market less than RRP.

It's the exclusivity that creates demand this is how the economy works.

I'm not buying anything today, but will be taking up a place in the queue for a neb about to view mintages etc still don't think I'll be buying today and will just wait for the sovereign release soon

That's what I'm here for. The bank balance isn't prepared for another hit. I'm here just to make the queue longer for everyone.

Spot on bud... they'll still make a load of cash from the 'Memento' brigade, but that's taken the interest for collectors straight out of the coins (that are Unlimited mintage). 😕

From what you posted, it appears to be a done deal, so no point crying over spilled milk. I just hope they don't do unlimited mintages for the Sovereigns as well :(

Anyone else miss the days when you could go into the post office and pick them up at face value? The base metal 50p, £2 and £5 coins that is, obviously not the gold and silver coins.

Although @James32 has fond memories of those days.
