Selling the silver coins

Where do you sell the coins? Do you have troubles getting premium at dealer stores? I was thinking to dump 250 ounces of silver coins and buy gold.

I never sold om ebay. How would that work?

Has anyone else dumped silver for gold lately?

People sell here on the forum on a daily basis. Going to a dealer you are unlikely to get any of the premium you paid back. For example here you can see Atkinsons buy back price.

If you haven't sold before you could take a look at the quickstart guide.

eBay you would list the items and once sold eBay take their fees and you get what's left. There are many threads on here of people warning about eBay although some people do use it with some success it would not be my first choice.

Good luck.

Unfortunately, our friend is from Canada, so selling on forum it is not very easy option. The buy/sell page for USA&Canada is not very active.

If you were in the UK, I would  have advised to buy gold for investment, rather than silver:

https://www.chards.co.uk/blog/advice-guide-for-uk-bullion-investors/1041

This is partially because of the 20% VAT in the UK, which does not apply to Investment Gold.

As you are in Canade, this would not have applied to you, but...

Now you own silver, why would you want to dump it in favour of gold?

Especially at a relatively high G:S ratio

https://www.chards.co.uk/gold-silver-ratio

and:

https://www.chards.co.uk/blog/gold-silver-ratio-and-its-effect-on-silver-price/241

It would make more sense currently to exit gold, and acquire silver.

I would expect that a dealer would pay spot value or maybe spot +/- 5%. You are very unlikely to get back what you paid. The US/Canada section on here isn't super active. However you might get a UK/European buyer interested if the price is right.
