1999 / 2000 Millennium Masterpiece Silver Proof Collection Revisited

In 1999 and 2000, a number of countries came together to create a 24 coin commemorative collection to mark the end of the 2nd millennium, and the start of the 3rd.

I came across a number of these sets in our "World Room" recently because I wanted a good new photograph on an Irish silver pound coin featuring the Broighter Boat.

While we were at it, we re-photographed all the coins:

The box has a Royal Mint logo on it, but I thought some other mints were involved.

Many of the coins have unusual features.

Above 12 of the reverse designs.

Their respective obverses.

With a half dozen obverses.

Yet more reverses:

And the last of the obverses:

Certificates and information:

Royal Mint booklet:

I think I like the collection more now than I did at the time.

It may just be because of our great photos!
