Rare George 111 half sovereign key year

Only 35,000 mintage

In MS62 NGC

Only 7 higher

As you can see from pics last coin cabinet sale was 2021 for 2,400

Coins of the realm passes but valued between 2k and 2.4k but in 2020

Or SV collector at 3,000 euros

So pricing this at 2,150 ono

Would be open to an exchange

No pants down, no bumming, no how many in a tube gags

This a serious coin

Thanks, seems like an interesting read. Can't believe I might actually learn something from a juvenile gag. Appreciate the link @SilverDrum

  • Leonmarsh changed the title to 1820 Key Date Rare George 111 half sovereign MS62 £2150 ONO

And on with the music ….

so, for me, who likes coins, & ‘got’ relatively quickly why certain modern Sovs were ‘key dates’ , please could I ask, & not necessarily from Leon, why is 1820 a specific key date?
clearly 1817 was a key date, but why this one.
and it’s a very nice looking coin

Thanks Cliveb

Thanks andrew nice to see some serious coin collectors on this thread

As Andrew states 35,000 mintge very low in comparison to over 2 million in 1817

How many are still left very few, how many in ms grade even fewer
