Sound money is not a guarantee of a free society, but a free society is impossible without sound money. We are currently a society enslaved by debt.

Cheers.  Took me about 5 years to acquire.  I'm mostly done, for now...

Well, I have at least 10 years before thinking about retirement, so there's something to aim for right there 😊

That may be a possibility... ooh, or a Double Sovereign perhaps...🤔 - Gaaaah!  now I'm going to have start thinking all over again! 😂

I'm very partial to a double sovereign I must admit, even more so than a 1oz Brit.  I like Brits and sovs too of course and sovs are undoubtedly the easiest to shift if you ever come to resell,  but it's just something about the size and weight of the double which gives it that feeling of "rightness".

I guess it's a personal thing..

Quick update:

Started sourcing some items ready for next week, and not doing too bad so far! Not sure I'll be going for the Double Sovereign straight away, as it would soak up a fair chunk of the calculated available wonga, so will probably end up as a mix of small gold and possibly some silver too.

Haven't completely abandoned the Double Sov, have a cunning plan fermenting 😈

Bugger! you've sussed me Cunning Plan!  🤣

Seriously though, not being on a regular pay schedule can be a pain, but also a blessing - as there's another couple of smaller invoices due not too long after ... 😊 🤞

... no Turnips were harmed in the fermenting of said plan 😏

It’s great seeing a collection build up with fractional sand the odd full sovereign, however, comes a time when you have to resist temptation and save the funds for that odd bigger coin… I.e a double sovereign!🥵🥵

Very True... but I'm still a 'Newbie' really, and the thought of shelling out around £750 in one go gives me the Heebie-Jeebies! 😲 😳

I'm working my way up to it 😊 - Honest!

It's not like I'm a fully Fledged Hoover like @James32 - but I'm trying! 😂

We have all been there honestly. There's no right or wrong way to stack as long as you are paying reasonable prices and not too premium heavy.

This time next year you will be buying 1oz gold coins like their smarties 😉

Oddly enough, that had crossed my mind - I refer you to my Cunning Plan post earlier 😉 👍

Need to get in to the habit of thinking in % over spot prices, not actual FIAT too...

Blimey - I almost sound like I know what I'm doing! 🤭

There's deals to be had every day of the year

There comes a time when you start thinking in ounces, or fractions of, rather than fiat!

'Shall we go abroad again love...?'

Ok, wait...that's 2 ounces!

'New phone, Sir?'

How much?! Can get a double sovereign for that!

😂

Technically, alcohol is a solution..
