Posting 1oz silver coins

Just had a message from a seller. He posted a signature picture from the post office for the parcel delivered this morning. Amazingly it gives my surname saying that I signed for it.

Rather amazingly I was out and the house was empty all morning!

rather typical of the current postal workers

I once had an ebay buyer claim they did not receive an item about 5 months after posting. They actually did a charge back via a credit card, so I lost the item, had to refund, and got charged £10 for having a charge back done on me. It was a cheap item posted 2nd class, I would have just refunded if they asked.

So I assume arphethean recommends 6 months as that's how long some payment methods allow a charge back for. I think if someone has paid by bank transfer they have a right to complain if they have not received their goods in 30 days of the sale or agreed delivery date. But I am not sure how long people are allowed to wait before complaining.

Same thing happened to me. Nobody home, but apparently, we still managed to squiggle an eligible signature and 'refused to accept delivery'. Disgraceful.

Hopefully, just a one-off.

I think you’ve got to be pretty unlucky to have something go missing, I think I’ve had 2 items not turn up in 20 years of buying and selling.

Also had someone post me a sovereign in a plain envelope with second class stamp once, got here but was a bit of a worry and wonder why on earth they took the risk. If I was that sort of person I could of easily said it never came and got it for nothing.
