Mark Identification on Antique Silver Jewelry Pieces

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to track down the history for three silver jewelry pieces--they each have marks that I'm having a hard time tracing. One looks to be a crescent moon on a bail. There's a grape vine ... with maybe a Greek letter above it on the back of a pendant? The last one are two little markings on the edge of a clasp, maybe fish? (The "800" mark on that one, I know it's a material mark.) Any insights would be very appreciated!

Thank you for your time! - Whimz

The 800 will likely be 80% silver.

This collection is what i might call Continental silver - that is Continental from the point of British people - European silver. It is certainly not silver from the British Isles.

i don't know much about these marks but i did wonder if the first piece where there is a mark on the hoop - whether this is Austrian.

i can see a 2 and head from the side and an A.

As i say i don't know much about this but it looks like the 2 indicated 90% silver and the A is the Vienna mark.
