I must be silly… but I love the bluey silk cloth they’ve used for all advertising coins and bars in the Platinum Jubilee range.

It would’ve been cool if they used unique packaging incorporating this silk for all Jubilee coins in boxes. 😎

The bullion coins at least (not sure about the bars) come in an additional card slip case with Jubilee stuff on it. They are otherwise just the same as the other blister pack coins.

I've already bought the QB completer coin, thankfully at a less lofty price 😊

As has @paulmerton if I remember correctly!

Indeed I did! I would find it hard to buy either now they're no longer near £930ish after VAT. Platinum feels risky enough as an investment when catalytic converters are on their way out. I see it as premium tarnish-proof silver 😄

A platinum Britannia bar would be a very cool thing to own, in my opinion.  I'd love a 1 oz one.

Shame that the price of platinum is going North at the moment.  If it drops back below £750 ish, I may be very tempted by one of these bars.

Platinum is currently at a very low, bargain price, at about 57% of the price of gold.

Until about 2011, it was on a par, or a slight premium to gold.

Although past prices are no guarantee of future prices, but are worth thinking about.

VAT

Not being funny but when wasn't there VAT? premiums are generally LESS than silver and unless selling as scrap can be passed on down the line. Market is thinner than Gold and Silver, that's for sure.

Before Brexit you could purchase platinum, not at zero vat but much reduced, much like silver. I was picking up 1/10 Brits for less than £70 I think.

True story but VAT has always applied in the UK, relatively small window of opportunity to import from EU duty free but I found premiums ex VAT higher during that period. £700 per ounce for fractional excellent but not sure that price was indicative of the period TBH.

Fair point. Just checked my receipts and although it’s indicated 0 vat, I bought 1/10 Brits in feb 2019 for £85 each, spot was about £620 at the time   I see! Seemed like a deal at the time.
