Minted in the year of 1887 in San Francisco, this beautiful pre-33 USA $5 gold piece is 135 years old and is intrinsically reminiscent of American strength!

This is a really lovely example of the type and would make a commendable addition to any collection, particularly of world gold or American coinage!

While we may be in happy 2022, this gold piece has clearly walked out of a saloon in sunny California in a time when, to quote Merle Haggard, 'a buck was still silver and it was back when the country was strong.'
