2022 Royal Mint Annual Sets

Recommended Posts

Silver proof coin set has a limited mintage of 550

The piedfort mintage is 370

The premium set has a mintage of 2500

With this years sets I’m sure these will be very popular unlike previous years

Anyone in yet? I am probably going to pass on these, but am also curious to see the coins and options!

Yeah, I like the gold 5 pound but can't say I'd shell out for the set as I'm not really over excited by the prospect of the Birmingham commonwealth games or any of the others.

I’d have gone for the single £5 silver proof with the definitive JC obverse. That horseback portrait is just weird (to me).

It looks like a stick figure on a horse. There’s no detail at all in the Queen’s face.

Even Wyon’s Three Graces from 200 years back had more detail on the faces of the three women.

These are supposed to be JC right? I know the images show otherwise.

Am I the only one expecting this in the annual set

Well, I got in at 9.16am, and had a look around.  I will buy the cupro-nickel £5 and 50p Jubilee coins on the secondary market as are no mintage limits on these and so they will soon start appearing.

I will buy the SOTD sovereign next month.

Oh I didn’t spot that. I think it must be a mistake just like the horseback obverse?
