Which loupe to buy

Hi all,

I'm thinking of getting a loupe, can anyone recommend one worth getting? Doesn't have to be state of the art but decent enough to inspect prior to grading or just to enjoy my coins TIA

Hi, thanks for responding, but I was wondering if a company like NGC use a x5 mag for grading purposes, isn't a x40 mag going to give you a slighty false idea of your coins grading potential. If you inspect any coin with a high enough magnification then surely you'd find issues with every coin ever minted? TIA

The focus ring is great for coins of different heights or in capsules too.

If you hate Amazon like i do, then i can recommend https://www.quicktest.co.uk/collections/loupes got my 10x loupe from them, first class. This isn't an ad for quicktest it's my personal experience.

I work on watches as well and I use esslinger.com it has everything you'd need plus more. Also great for jewelry making items.

If you want a really nice loupe, look at something from Zeiss with a magnification of somewhere between 10 - 20X....
