So I summarised my thoughts and you responded with “you reckon???”  You may wish to re-evaluate this given the values you espoused in your reply?
Not looking for a fight mate, just a genuine conversation.

Not a problem sir..you mentioned a fight???? Seems that individuals on here such as me and others  can not have a view without being chastised and undermined with people like you who have a self important, superior view that puts people like me and others who just express their views without  any malice to anyone..but your so called experience on coins makes you believe you can undermine our view...which I and others don't really care about..bullus are everywhere in this world..

It makes me wonder whether they are holding a few back in order to up the margin on them at later dates. That was my immediate thought when @JeffM raised the point. Although I'm not sure if that's what was meant...

My concern is they bag 10, price gouge up the way , then when they sell to folks who have pre ordered, they inspect, keep the door f70 as they see s as nd send out the s**** to mrpunter nohoper

If you care to read any of my posts from the past you would know this was untrue, I suggest if you want a battle you go elsewhere.

Perhaps people ordering by bank transfer and not following through? I have ordered2, my concern is if you get the dregs compounded with the no returns policy. Now if the mint would return to sealing them properly there would be no dubiety buying from the independents(provided u get an unopened, sealed product)

I fear they want their cake and eat it also.

I don't think any of the businesses currently selling it on pre-order can insist on no returns. It's not investment gold bullion that has dynamic pricing, so your statutory rights should still apply, i.e. you can certainly return it if it's not of satisfactory quality, and you should even be able to return it for a full refund even if there's nothing wrong with it but you change your mind. The only thing you won't be able to insist on is a replacement, which could be annoying if it means losing out on getting the coin altogether!

He had a proof Sov up for sale at 780 but accepted an offer far lower. Perhaps he will do the same for this.

Either way I can see them going for 650 on the forum in a few weeks

I respect your opinion but for me, I don’t buy PMs to gamble my money.

£800 for a bullion coin in a box. Maybe do well maybe not.

It’s all hype as always on big releases

SOTD? I don't think so either. They'll be snapped up at that.

It's a low mintage, plain edged, stamped on the day of anniversary bullion coin! In a box.

:D

Folks can buy it elsewhere, I don’t give a whatever. These will do very well in my opinion , that is why I’m am purchasing where I can. If I can get from the mint also so much the better. Happy hunting folks.

I think the sovereign market is different to the other commemoratives. I think this coin will do well, particularly in the short term because of the hype surrounding the jubilee. After 6th Feb has passed, we still have the 4-day weekend to come in June, which apparently will be having celebrations across the world, within the commonwealth countries that is.

In the mid to long term, special design sovereigns seem to be a safe bet. This one, okay it is only BU, but it's got a lot going for it. Low mintage, matte, plain edge, and obviously some day to strike a coin. More important than other SOTD's

All things considered it appears rather desirable for both quick flippers and long term holders imo.

Got my SOTD locked in a month or so ago via a 3rd party. Cost £30 more than RM price and will still have a stab at another one on release day as this is a classy modern  release, not a throwback reproduction (nothing wrong with that btw).

Good luck all. Classy purchase imho. Forget the money. This one has actual historical value and is a true collectors’ coin. Nothing more , nothing less imho.

Historical first, check. Low(ish) mintage, check. Gold, check. Buyers’ hype,  check (but not necessary). What’s not to like ? Price of a holiday somewhere….so go buy a tent and look up at the stars this summer with a cheap stake and a bottle or two of wine ? :)

Yeah might try for another from the mint myself :) being a hit is one thing, but i always think will you lose money etc.

like the other matt ones that haven't gone up in value to much, but also haven't gone down.

So either way you shouldn't lose on this one.

For the flipperati, I would advise them to stay away and stick with the Gothic Portrait release. This sotd isn’t for them. Not enough meat on the bone. Leave this one tothe actual collectors.
