Haha...non professionals pretending to be professionals....and the club is a clique of members...well that's what I've been told by many ex members who got banned from here for speaking there mind...allegedly.....

Well I've never received a single card this past Christmas...so I guess I'm not prestigious enough, if such a club exists.

I don't think so, not really seen much evidence of this in the 7 years I've been here.

As a new member it's sensible to keep your head down for a while until you assimilate the general tone of the established banter. It pays not to be too sensitive, there are a lot of quick "jokey" comments on here; some funny but many can come accross as short or sarcy. The forum medium lends itself to comments being misunderstood. I know, I have typed a few in my time😉

@James32- I meant to say that you’re prominent for your witty one-liners, and most of the regulars know your posts are not at all mean-spirited or meant to offend anyone.

Which is why when @sovereignsteve talked about “quick jokey” comments, I mentioned us giving you the side eye.

Sort of like when the teacher confronts the class and asks who the prankster is, everyone looks sideways at the culprit, but no one gives him up because he’s one of them. ☺️

Back on topic… I agree with some who said the RM could have come up with better packaging.

The cardboard / plastic box combo seems a bit cheap for a coin that’s more expensive and exclusive than the regular annual Sovereign.

Imagine if the RM surprises us all with a platinum (meaning the metal) SotD Sovereign.

I’m still surprised they haven’t done it.

 

Maybe they’re planning it for the Platinum Coronation Jubilee next year.
