At just under 1 troy ounce I can't help but think the Royal Mint are asking a little much for this coin. It is rather warming to know that only 100,000 will be minted. I am tempted to buy a few, but as a novice stacker perhaps my temptation is wrongly placed.

Do any of you already own a £50 coin or intend to buy one/some?

Did any of you buy any other similar coins from the RM?

Welcome to the forum Scott :)

I agree with HH and highly recommend you to read the entire thread.

You have to consider if you mainly want to be stacker or a collector.

As a collector I have one, and was willing pay for the high premium.
The stacker in me, think it was stupid purchase and could've purchased at least 3x or 4x 1oz Silver Britannia bullion or equivalent .

So do a little bit more study/research before you invest your time and money into precious metals.
Hold on to your cash for at least a month and study/research before you splash out.

... and I've learned a lot on the posts on this forum! : )

Thanks guys, as an investor primarily I see little sense in paying more than something is worth. I like the idea of each of the collections that RM have, but as the £5 coin is now worth very little its hard for me invest in something that could likely be worth less than it is now.
