I understand most of the English words you use, but it is the meaning of the sentences they form which I fail to understand, and I do generally have a good understanding of most written English, even when it addresses quite complex concepts, including scientific, legal, mathematical, and other specialist areas.

If English is your second language, then I should admire your ability in it.

I could certainly not express myself as well in Gaelic, Scots or Irish, this is limted to a few select words as phrases, and my spelling of them is worse than my oral abilities.

Correct me if im wrong but arent the Midlands the last of the anglo saxons? Because the South (London, South East and West) are more Norman than anything?
