The 2022 Sovereign is due the second or third week of November.

So I can see the next Great Engravers being released in December at the earliest.

I've pre-ordered a 2022 proof sovereign from a dealer and they are wanting the balance paid by 14th November - so release on 15th?

Oh my goodness are you serious!?

What is the price, if I may ask?

I did not want to be at the mercy of the RM's computer system, so I can now sit back and watch the fun on release day!

The total price was £585, and possibly plus postage.

Do you think there will be a mad stampede, similar to The Great Engravers?

That doesn’t sound too bad. I assume the RM cost may be lower? Unless the dealer has got it at a special price and is offering it lower than the RM price (though for a popular release like this, I can’t see why dealers would bother to offer any discount at all).

I think there will be a high demand, but whether but whether they sell out immediately, like The Great Engravers series, I don't know.  Also, I would guess that the mintages would be up on last year.  But I have had problems with the RM's computer system even when it has not been a release day, so I do find the buying process quite stressful !

The dealer was saying that the price would not be higher than the RM release price - so they must be getting a discount on this in order to make some money.

Hmmm assuming their stock is of decent quality? I tried that with two Panther 1 oz coins. Both were flawed and had to be sent back to the dealer. Because they weren't directly ordered from RM I only got a refund and no option to exchange.  So swings and roundabouts really. Hopefully you get a good one!

It was Allgoldcoins but they have allocated all their stock.  Maybe email Adele at CC and see if she has any available?
