With the purchasing power this forum has I don't think we will be seeing much in the way of premiums on 2022 bullions sovs for a long long time, that said if your in it for the long run why not! I buy current year sovs anyway.

If you live in the UK and it's UK currency then it's CGT free.

 1500 quid premium on the 5 piece set...that does seem to be the current going rate, wonder how long that will stay the case? Seems to be a good demand, I'm surprised the 3 piece isn't carrying much of a premium.

In line with the 'better ' variant proof years 2017 and 1989, 2022 will see slowly rising value with time, as release fever dust settles and then supplies start to dwindle from the market in next 12-18 months

I think £1,500 will stay steady and increase each year as they disappear into collector sets. Try finding a 2017 5 coin set today 😉 I nearly snapped one up last year, should have 🙄

It will be interesting to see if they actually did seal the capsules properly before they were sent  as per my multiple requests.

Popped up on tracking now as having arrived. Now waiting for coins to be delivered. It will be extremely interesting to see if my many requests to have the coins securely fastened (including taped into their capsules) were observed.

Snagged one of those on release from RM. It is not going anywhere and in the box still.
 

In fact, got the entire range, BU 5sov, piedfort, single, half, sotd (2) all pf70s

It's a bit of a no brainer in 2022 to buy nothing but 2022 sovereigns if it's only bullion you're after

The terms as I understand them if you invest into uk currency bullion and then dispose of them then it’s not subject to tax.  Trust me I’ll be investing at 9:00am and disposing at 9:04am.
