closed 5g gold bar swap for 1oz silver coins

I'm looking to swap a 5g gold bar for 1oz silver coins. I'm a total noob, so I'm looking for advice too please. If the below is way out of the park, please feel free to help me get things straight.

I have a 5g Umicore bar bought from Gold.co.uk in February. Based on recent coins on here going for around £30 (give or take £2.50ish) and the bar being worth £214 spot and £250 retail delivered (£232 is in the middle) am I right in thinking that a fair exchange would be 8 silver coins if we both paid our own SD postage? Like I say, if I'm missing am important point please let me know.

I'm just starting my silver coin collection and am especially interested in coins from around the world and coin series'. For example, the current Koala, Kookaburra and Panda coins for auction/sale here look amazing and would be great for getting the kids engaged.

I'm a new member, but am happy to send mine before you send yours.

So, any offers or advice very welcome.

Thanks

Hi, numbers are probably about right in my humble opinion. Have you considered just selling the gold first? Could be simpler and then you can buy the silver you want rather than what is offered. It is of course entirely up to you. Good luck.👍

Hi Shiny Stuff, that's not a bad shout. I'll see how this goes, but I might go for that if I only get offered 3 battered old Britannias and half a sandwich!
