Hi i have a question maybe somebody can help me with ?

Do you think that the Slabbed Sovereigns purchased from Rosland  are worth it , or are they overpriced ??

As I've purchase a couple of items from them, and I'm not convinced, as the price of gold has to rise to at least £2500  oz before i can make a good return on my investment

have i made a good choice?

Mind you, I purchased these a couple of years ago when gold was at £1800 oz  and it's only £1933 ish  and very green in the game

You could ask what people think about Rosland Capital, but this misght give you a clue as to what I think of them:

I deeply resent that ageist comment.

It's a good job I'm still only 29.

I really hate to be the bearer of bad news, but those coins will likely only be worth spot price at best....

There might be some very niche collectors out there that would be willing to pay more for the coins, but I would suspect most if not all dealers would not be willing to pay very much above spot price for these coins.

Correct, many people prefer to buy Grade "C" gold sovereigns rather than PF70 TDCs. 🙂

When I first read your post, I naively assumed you meant British gold sovereigns, which is what I think 99% or people would also understand.

It turns out you were referring to Tristan da Cunha gold sovereigns.

It's rather like saying "United States", when you mean one of these: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_(disambiguation)

I don’t think members should infer that Rosland U.K. is a scam. Which it is not. It’s a large precious metals company that has existed since 2014 (in the U.K.) and Rosland Capital in the USA has existed since 2008. Making such posts that could be deemed as slander could cause legal issues not just for the member making them but also for the forum itself.

Rosland Capital have exclusive partnerships with The British Museum, PAMP, Formula 1, just to name a few.

Note that Rosland U.K. do offer a buy back service and a full refund on proof, numismatic and semi numismatic coins if returned within 14 days. Check their agreement here for more info: https://www.roslandgold.co.uk/customer-agreement/

They also carry a lot of stock, which is very good for collectors who are trying to find something for their collection. @RoslandGold in Germany can also usually price match other precious metal dealers, so it is worth contacting them and asking when making a purchase.

Rosland Gold also sponsors the forum and many of the Prize Draws that we give away.

Also note that the separate Rosland offices in different countries are all slightly different, so the contract is with the specific Rosland company you purchase with.

As with all purchases from any dealer or anyone, members should do their research and make sure that they are happy with the price and terms before agreeing to make the purchase.

My posts are my personal opinions, they do not constitute advice or financial advice.

I think @Roy's comment was about the price rather than the seller.

Sure, and F1 sponsors used to include tobacco companies, who must have knowingly killed many millions of people.

Rosland Gold also sponsors the forum and many of the Prize Draws that we give away.

Sponsorship does came with some ethical considerations. 🙂

So true. I have seen this over the years in my job. Elderly people are extremely vulnerable to these companies.  ( I'm talking Westminster and London mint. I have never heard of Rosland)

I was disppointed that it was a proof!

Totally off topic but have you ever had a 1917 London mint sovereign or a 1920 Sydney mint sovereign in stock? 😬

Rosland are an enigma, on one hand they sell regular semi-numismatic bullion, new and graded.  On the other hand they sell tat and dodgy things like this

https://www.roslandgold.co.uk/product/harry-and-meghan-wedding-1oz/

Funny that you say dodgy because Meghan and Harry coins are the most wanted coins in Germany. Beside of that I don’t know the pricing of Rosland Uk, but they have a buy back Service. Blaming the company by posting a copyright fraud link from 2014 is just …

Rosland is spending hundred thousands of dollars every year for own promotions.

Rosland UK is also selling sovereigns and britania graded with special British flags which have a higher collectible  value.

It sounds to me like you are conflating "value" with "price". There is a difference.

Oh, and "britania" is usually spelt with a capital "B" and 2 "n"s, hence Britannia! (Clue - similar to the name of the country).

I looked at the Rosland page that @Martlet mentioned.

1260312876_RoslandPCGS-gradedHarryMeghan-Wedding1ozGoldProofUnclearPagecopy.thumb.jpg.73abe2b5a5c1a7b77e87a6108be1d494.jpg

It does not look very attractive to say the least, and it certainly looks very expensive at almost £5000 even if it is a one ounce gold proof coin.

I have never known Solomon Islands coins to be in great demand, but worst of all...

It is unclear whether the coin is a one ounce coin, or a 1/100th ounce coin. The title and description state "1 oz", but the Coin Weight is stated as "1/100 oz", so which is it?

The photo makes it look slightly creased as though it was a very thin coin, and its diameter at 11mm is very small.

If this really is a one ounce coin with an 11mm diameter, it must be extremely thick.

You also seem to be addressing two different members' posts.

I did not mention "copyright fraud", and if you are going to question the link, please do question it instead of half-hinting by saying "is just …"

It is just what? Apart from something you seem to consider is an inconvenient truth.

I just noticed:

Description states "ONE HUNDRED POUNDS", whereas the denomination shown on the obverse of the coin is "5 DOLLARS"

Did you notice the apparent errors or inconsistences on the Rosland page?
