A few new (collectible) coins from Perth Mint were announced today as part of their monthly release program.

I would mention here the 2021 design of the Australian Brumby - 2nd design in the series.

https://www.perthmint.com/catalogue/australian-brumby-2021-2oz-silver-proof-high-relief-coin.aspx

For me though, the most exciting news was the listing of the September program, with Lunar III Year of the Tiger in the forefront.

Can't wait to see those designs.

The 2021 philadelphia morgan and 2021 peace dollar come out at noon ET so 5pm GMT on the 10th, early indications are coins will sell for double the price ($85) on fleabay but graded could sell for 4 times cost....hope that motivate the collectors, today's release of the 2021 morgan 'S' and 'D' coins were very difficult to get, so get your card and membership sorted out the refresh refresh refresh, it stalled at final agreement to purchase but keep putting in cc details and try again, took me 18 minutes to get my 3 maximum allotment of each...good luck.

Naff, Perth Mint now using Royal Mint designers for their lunar series ?. The tiger from PM lunar series 1 was fabulous & showed a majestic & powerful creature, the lunar series 2 tiger was also pretty good IMHO, this incarnation is dire if this is legit.

The problem with common sense is, its not that common.

I'm collecting Lunar III in no less than 6 different types, from 1oz gold to 1kilo silver, 2oz antiqued silver, 1oz silver proof, silver coloured proof and silver gilded... so it's obvious that I love the series.

I was anticipating this year's designs so much, as the tiger is one of my favorite animals... but I'm quite underwhelmed.

To me, they look as if the tigers were designed by a person who doesn't love tigers.

After platypus, kangaroo, echidna and wombat, the fifth issue of the "AUSTRALIA AT NIGHT" Series, the dingo. For me the nicest coin series by the Perth Mint, for many, many years.

We already have one in stock:
