Today I received these two Netherlands 2 1/2 Gulden silver circulated coins, in VF condition. 1933 and 1938 for comparison. Notice the differences? There are three (apart from the date!).P1030815.thumb.JPG.c5994947bc3fc886a5464253d72d1165.JPGP1030814.thumb.JPG.8ad055a730a1c9178896ef5efadeb54c.JPG

Forgot to mention, they are quite chunky pieces of change to carry about even in those days. 25gms of 0.72 fine Silver. Over 1/2oz.

Is it for sale?

Anything I have got is for sale (just don't tell my wife).

I just checked our website, with a search for 1833, https://www.chards.co.uk/products?search=1833, and it is not yet live, but then we have lots of stock which has not yet made it to our site.

You could keep a look out for it, contact @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer, or e-mail info@chards.co.uk.

I posted it TSF because it had recently been photographed, and included "Italy" in the title rather Sardinia (Italian States), and I am slightly pedantic, and because it's a nice looking coin.

Did you buy the ducat direct from the Austrian mint? If so, any difficulties with vat, customs, carrier etc?

I bought it at the store counter of the Austrian Mint (they also have a mini museum/showroom there). I do not have the receipt here, but Austria does not have VAT on gold coins. I am from Germany, so there was no problem in getting this home.

I paid a hell of a premium though, especially as I got the version with the representative box.

The complete Greek Culture silver 10€ series from Greece so far.

For me the nicest € series ever released. Would be a shame if the GM has stopped the series. Really nice collection👍
