I don't think the extra security features will add value to the coins, it might make them slightly easier to sell to eventually easier due to few concerns about fakes.  Depends on what you call a bargain

New design will have zero impact on price but spot definitely will.
Hard to find this coin below 5% over spot.
I got one today and it looks lovely but it will only be a friendly coin as long as gold doesn't take a dive.

Where did you buy from. Baird seems best I can spot.

Baird is terrible for single coin purchases as they have ridiculous shipping costs. Much better for larger bullion bars. Also atkinson's is usually cheaper and includes shipping in the prices

I don't think they are worth paying an additional premium versus other 1 oz gold coins.

Personally, and after having lived with the 2021 design for a few months now, I prefer the pre-2021 design.  In my opinion it's purer and more cohesive.  The 2021 coin has some impressive security features and I'm pleased to have one in my collection, but I think the hologram in particular detracts from the overall cohesiveness of the coin's design.  Won't be buying more other than as a stacking opportunity if the gold price falls significantly.

Generally use baird for kilo silver. So trust their quality. But may give Atkinson a whirl
