Which silver coin(s) would you buy?

This is an usual question for an established member but i am interested to see what members thing.

i am looking to buy a few silver coins - say a monster box number.
i am considering getting some of the 10 oz Una and Lion bars. i like the bars and think they will do well over time - they have strong aesthetic appeal.
What would others do? i am able to access EU coins and get the pre-Brexit price advantage.
i could go for price and pick up silver Krugerrands (i don't like Perth Kangaroos) or select a coin which costs a bit more but has a numismatic element.

Una and lion bars is what I have bought because they might release  three grace bars , etc

Even if it is not a series , the mintage are very low for what it is

the one ounce are 35k , 10 ounce 6100 bars ,

one ounce already sold out in many places and ten ounce prices are going up in retail

price you pay for a britannia/Krugerrands  vs una and lion , i am almost certain una and lion will gain more in terms of percentage provided you are an early birds on the bars

MY TOTAL FORUM TRADE FEEDBACK IS 100 AND IT IS 100%

Your thoughts on picking up some Una & the lion bars is solid. If you are ballparking total in the region of a monster box, then you might consider mixing things up a bit further with an intact box of 100 of the new Australian Wedge Tailed Eagle. Mercanti designed series, always popular - and will be for many years to come.

If you believe as i do that silver is still a good price anyway right now, only the few extra euro these cost above the Krugerrand for instance, is well worth it. As well as maintaining silver spot value into the future as the Krugerrand would, the three euro extra per coin will multiply itself also on top of the spot price due to its numismatic appeal. If spot price was to drop this time next year or at any time, you will still sell these for the price you paid today. Can't say the same for a Krugerrand.

The Wedge Tail i can see is 5€ over the cheapest Krugerrands in Germany but i follow your argument. In recent years an investment in something with numismatic value has done better than a straight up silver investment. i did look at the latest coin and that someone else's eye has been caught by it is useful information.

Silver Krugs are my preference of bullion silver. If you are looking for slightly higher premium ones, perhaps the 2019 and 2020 Tokelau Chronos coins are a good option. Those are well designed and slightly underrated in my opinion.

You can always opt to look for a bunch of higher premium coins at a good price. For instance, European mint second cheapest 1oz Silver coin at the moment is a 2015 Chinese panda. Seems like a good deal though I'm not sure about the liquidity of those in bulk.

I always think the silver krugerrand will end up similar to the gold krugerrand or Britannia, they are pretty much following the spot price without too much semi numismatic value added on top

I personally prefer a 10oz coin to ten 1oz coins of the same design.

And I like yearly changing designs like Kookaburras, Lunars, Dragons more than Kangaroos, Philharmonics, Britannias.

I picked also the Una bars. Right now thinking about RAM silver bullion.  Reasonable prices, great designs, funny 10 coin rolls and the mintages are also pretty low in this segment. Right now i prefer the australian COA and the Lunar Ox. But i will buy also the unlimited Beneathe the southern skies from last year with them.

I know this topic was about bullion coins, but can anyone offer their opinion on proof Britannia’s ?

the 2021 versions have just come out in all their shapes and sizes and I’m wondering whether they will do well?
would you guys expect them to be a good investment or a bad one?

I wanted to collect them, but after getting the 2018 and 2019, I've lost interest.

Didn't like 2020 at all, and the quality of RM silver proofs is just meh.

The design of 2021 looks good though.

Are silver Krugs popular in Britain? We rarely see them in America. They've always been pretty ugly, and that mint doesn't seem to have much to say, or innovate in terms of security features or metallurgy. They're just sort of quietly churning out ugly coins that haven't changed in ages.

I would buy Britannias, Maples, or Eagles. Those are the long-term plays, the ones that will always have some value and wide circulation.

The Britannias and Maples have noteworthy security features (especially the 2021 Brits), which I think will make them age better in terms of long-term value.

The Maples also have anti-milk-spotting technology. No one else has that. And they're 9999 pure, which is a nice plus. The Royal Canadian Mint is just so innovative and energetic with respect to their metallurgy and production technology, even with their circulation coinage, so I tend to value their products more.

Eagles are always primo, and the new 2021 design is supposed to have some security features, though I lost track of its release timeline.

I believe there is popular demand for them, but they're not as common as the others mentioned. I don't say that as a fact, but more of how it seems to me.

I suppose it depends on what your plan is with stacking (if that is what this purchase is for). For instance, I am stacking a variety of different silvers for different situations and a potential slow release of the silver when I'm older as a pension. So I mainly just buy the cheapest silver Bullion I can get and wait for the deals. I find it refreshing not having a series to collect specifically as that leaves me open to whatever the best deal is I can find. I feel like you can't go wrong with Britannias and  ASE at the right price as the market seems to be forever strong with them. Otherwise, just whatever you can find. I'm looking into tableware next month.
