Platinum bars/coins

I'm really keen to get a few 1 oz bars or coins of platinum but not sure which route to go down. I've always been put off by the VAT on the platinum products but as spot seems ridiculously cheap at the moment even if you pay the vat your paying the same price basically for an ounce of gold! Anyhow, anyone have any pointers as to where I can find some platinum with cheap premiums? Cheers guys, yeti

I like the Perth Mint platinum coins. Haven't bought one yet though. I personally think the design is very nice, though unfortunately the design doesn't change each year.

So the two nobles arrived today, really chuffed with them...

i think I got these for a smashing price as well considering only 3000 were made and some bullion dealers premiums for these over spot are ridiculous.

I have mixed feelings right now on platinum.  As an example of my own impeccable timing - I bought a lovely platinum 1 ounce platypus in April for just over £1000 at the absolute peak price (£836 plus VAT plus delivery)! So I am very tempted to re enter now  and pick up a Noble or an Eagle. I have no idea if platinum will plunge further or soar - I just love the variety of the metal at a price similar to gold. I see Bairds are out of Nobles today - but Bleyerbullion have the 1 oz bars for about £744 delivered - which is amazing.

Here is a pic of my Playtpus. I found it really hard to capture the shade and frosting on the coin with the camera - but here it is anyway.

Lovely coin, my take would be to add some more platinum at the reduced spot price to reduce your platinum average. Of course none of us can see the future but I would think platinum can only go one way long term....

Took the plunge on some pieces today.  Couldn't find an Eagle or 2015 Maple for a reasonable cost though as they were my 1st choice.  Have to wait a week to see what I get and whether they're in decent condition.

I heard talk somewhere about new Chinese laws being passed on vehicle emissions which affects 90 million cars, apparently they are removing sulphur from both diesel and petrol so catalytic converters could be retro fitted to millions of cars.

What did you go for and where did you buy from if you don't mind me asking?

Coin Invest have 2015 maples in but you probably need to email to reserve otherwise you may end up with a random year.  I wanted a 2015 for the new security features.  Looks much better than a plain one.
