Testing PM during lockdown?

Does anyone know how I could go about having my silver tested during lockdown? Unfortunately almost everything in London is closed however I bought a coin from a small dealer and it smells very metallic out of the capsule

Yes there is a phone app called precious coin tester. That might help you out.

If you got yourself a small neodymium magnet you could do a slide test on it at least that way you could get an idea of possible quality until you can get it tested fully, first orders from Silver Trader get one free..

Or you can buy the acid test kit online and have it delivered.

Do specific gravity test, it is simple and you do not have to buy anything

I heard weighing it can give you an idea, I’m new to stacking but if the coin is obviously over/under the “sold as” weight then that can be a worrying sign.

Super Strong Magnets (10mm x 1mm) Powerful * 0.5Kg PULL* Thin Small Disc Magnet. 

They are the ones I use. Only a fiver for ten. I would send a link if I knew how.😁

you can also get them off Amazon.. the 10mm x 1-3mm will be ideal for what you need and not too expensive, don't let them bang against each other though as they can break easy.

Yes, they do break easy. I have them dotted around the house, drives the missus crazy. It's not a full proof method but it gets you some of the way there. I generally compare it to a piece I know is 999,925,500. Do them at the same time, should fall at the same speed.
