1/4oz Gold PF70 went for £500. I’d be gutted if I just sold that but very happy to be the buyer at less than release price. That’s the risk with this auction format

Yes, there have been a few times I have paid way below an items worth at auction, but then also sold at a loss too. Swings and roundabouts has always been my approach. I never celebrate too much with a good win or sale as karma can be a difficult mistress.......

i'm surprised these size aren't the most popular size and actively chased/bid up since it is the ones most accessible to the average man on the street

i.e. dont cost a mortgage payment or a months rent to buy

How many folk out there can afford spending £2000-£5000 on a 5 sov/1oz PF70 on a regular basis ?

The 10oz is the same diameter as the 5oz, just double the depth. Essentially, it is a piedfort £10 as both the 5oz and the 10oz are denominated at £10.

Good luck to all those bidding this afternoon! I have a few things in my eyeline and have placed some initial marker bids, none of which are the various iterations of the Three Graces!

Likewise I think that the 2 Kilo Silver is the same diameter as the 1 Kilo ie 1005 mm. Personally I wouldn't pay much more for that added weight.  I don't know if others agree  (and not to do down the 10oz) but when it comes to aesthetics in the silver it is the diameter that is the main driver for me  ie an ideal set would be  2oz, 5oz and 1 Kilo.

Is it fair to assume, if it were private individuals selling the gold three graces coins and potentially making tens of thousands of "profit", there isn't any tax liability? All coins are CGT exempt right? Or is that only bullion?

Apologies if it's a stupid question.

Legal tender is CGT free so yes no tax on these as far as my knowledge goes

Interesting that the ungranded coins didn't reach great prices - 10oz silver only 7k and 5oz Gold 39k vs 41k for the 2oz PF70 and interestingly the 2oz Silver pf70 went for 4k.

Surely if 866 of the 1013 graded by NGC have come back as pf70, that's 85%, they cannot be worth 4k if you can buy 2 ungraded examples for that on ebay and possible still have change.

Maybe someone can put me right on that?

think there will be a flood of 70s hitting the market when the bulk of them return from Trumpland

Only so many will be allowed in these coin auction sales each time so overspill will appear on FleaBay

are there 900 collectors around the world willing to pay £4k ??? doubt it personally

Dont think it will be like for like comparison for the Una & Lion for values in the early days personally

What would people think would be a reasonable price to sell a 2oz ngc 70 silver ? Probably looking to sell mine in the coming days but looking to be realistic and would like to avoid ebay. 2k? 3k? And more importantly avoiding ebay where would be the best place to sell without getting your eye balls taken out?

Alternatively could just sit on it until everything settles down.

Any thoughts appreciated.

The Britannia Coin Company which seems to be one of the leading dealers in Three Graces , has  2oz PF 69 Silver listed at £1895  (with 5 in stock) and raw at £2750 (with 7 in stock )

Its a hard one to call i kept mine raw

And the initial investment makes it nothing to really worry about

People are flocking to sell their coins which is driving the prices down these will eventually  find their homes with collectors

Its whether you go now or hold out

You could try one of the dealers like Chard or the London Coin Company but obviously they need to turn a profit,  at least it would give you an indication . Otherwise ebay would give you the quickest return. Whether to sell now  or not is very subjective -the old "fear versus greed "conundrum (not that I am suggesting that you are either!) Personally I am more on the former and would rather take a smaller turn now than hold out for a bigger one in the future which may or may not materialise. As has been pointed out there are going to be an awful lot of PF 70s around which will affect the price downwards in the short to medium term, although there may be a renewal of interest when the next Great Engravers coin is released, provided that issue a success. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Thanks will give them a call tomorrow to see what they would offer. There is a balance to be had.

If they offer what I think is a pragmatic price, or indeed are willing to buy, i will likely sell it.

If not, will keep a hold of it for the longer term.

@MikeG1978.  The perception is indeed, that people are flocking to sell these coins but search terms on Ebay of 'Three Graces Silver' say different.

The results, for me anyway, were surprising in terms of what is actually available for sale, I was surprised of how few Royal Mint 2oz coins are for sale but more surprised by the amount of larger denomination coins that are available:

2oz Royal Mint:  21

5oz Royal Mint: 8

10oz Royal Mint: 3

1Kg Royal mint: 4

In terms of the knock off Alderney:

2oz Alderney: 13

5oz Alderney: 3

I really do need to get a life! 🤯
