If you don't get much interest within a couple of days then maybe you are overly optimistic in your asking prices assuming you are listing common stuff and not anything unusual or rare.
If you sell within the first hour then maybe you could have cranked the price up a little more.
Since you are new to S.F. expect to be asked to ship prior to receiving payment.
Relax if contacted by a seasoned member with good feedback otherwise be cautious and see what you can work out.
Once your feedback profile is established it is less likely any member would not pay in advance.

Thanks for the advice. Managed to sell a few items here already so hopefully slowly but surly can earn vouches.
