Cost Vs Value of your stack.....

Recommended Posts

So, here's what I have decided to do:

I am going to wipe all the purchase amount information from my spreadsheet. I'll replace it with current value, and update this every month or two.

I think I am happier just knowing what it is worth now. As long as it is worth something, then that is a bonus, as this stacking lark has turned in to quite a fun hobby, and also making connections with many a fine fellow on-line too!

I'm not really that bothered how much I spent, as it is only going to taunt me when spot falls, or make me concentrate on profit when prices soar. I don't really want to do either fol those! I want to know my current position.

So if I get time in the next couple of days, that's my plan! Quite a bit of home work to do, but shouldn't take too long.

:)

I had just added a new column to my spreadsheet, Current Price, but deleted it as I decided it would take too much time to keep updating it. 1000 entries or so. So now just have the purchase price.

I use an app called iBullion which is not perfect but pretty good. It tells you how much you paid and a choice of overall or daily losses / gains. It doesn't take into account any premiums or tax over spot. I prefer to set it to the daily change - the other way is pretty dispiriting.

I have a price paid including VAT & shipping column, an estimated current value column though I barely update it, usually just enter in the price excluding vat. And a total melt value.

My posts are my personal opinions, they do not constitute advice or financial advice.
