Hi there,

With regards to our start prices we are governed by the consigner on some of the Lots. An agreement is made between the submitter and the auction on the start price of which we take 10% on the hammer price it reaches. If the Lot doesn't get a bid we either agree a lower start price with the submitter or the item is removed. (Depending on how likely the coin could sell in the next auction and if the gold/ metal value price has risen etc). I appreciate some of our competitors start their prices lower, however ask yourself this-

1.  Do any of those items EVER sell for the lower start bid?  I don't think so.

2. If you were consigning to an auction - would you expect to receive less than the current price of gold/ Silver for your coin? NO

We had a large number of Sovereigns starting at £345 (I don't think this is unreasonable) given there is NO buyers premium to pay and companies like Bullion by Post were selling the same coins from £360-£395.

With regards to postage - we charge £20 per parcel up to £2500. This is to cover both materials, insurance and the safe delivery of the items. No other fee's are added, no VAT, no buyers premium and we also offer discounts to TSF members.

Our auction has been running for 9 months - it is relatively new. Most auction houses have unsold items. This is perfectly normal. Heritage in the US are the largest auction house in the world and they too have unsold Lots on occasions. We are in the process of building the auction, and encouraging new customers and consigners to come and trade with us. We work on a low threshold - most auctions charge 15-30% Buyers Premium. Please don't be put off by a £20 postage fee.

Best regards

Louise

That’s impressive - it’s great and enjoyed the selection of coins this evening.

I’m new to the forum and saw you had tonight’s auction so got involved.  So easy to download the app, register, and look through the lots.  Very easy to navigate around.

The auction flowed really well and bidding was easy.

Must pay...

Well done thus far!

Thank you for coming to the auction! Did you win anything?

Fortunately I did not win everything I placed bids on...

Very pleased with the two sovereigns I got though!
