Anyone can confirm if I import platinum into UK from EU now will I be charged extra 20% VAT?

If yes where's the cheapest place in UK to buy new platinum coins?

Shall I assume premium over spot for physical is similar price for in UK and in EU?

Im trying to work out is it cheaper to buy from UK or EU?🤔

Yes VAT is charged on Silver and Platinum... and I would assume the cheapest place would be TSF if any items come up for sale 🙂

I'm not aware of anyone selling platinum 1/4 ounce coins at a lower price than I am at the moment...

I like to buy new from a reputable dealer.

Do you know the cheapest place to buy new physical 1oz plat coins in the UK?

Pre-owned physical platinum coins have no VAT? If so where's the best place reputable places to buy them?

Right now you will probably pick up four quarter ounce platinum Britannia from Britannia coin company cheaper than your pickup 1-ounce coins

Okay are they a recent new company? as I cant find any feedback on them here:

Lastly how you search for plat coins on their website and are they pre-owned or new?

Almost certainly yes.

If yes where's the cheapest place in UK to buy new platinum coins?

Last time I looked, we were the cheapest on 1 ounce Queen's Beasts.

Many of our bullion products have dealer price comparisons on the product pages.

Why do you insist on NEW ones?

Shall I assume premium over spot for physical is similar price for in UK and in EU?

Probably, most markets are international these days.

Most EU countries have VAT rates similar to ours.

Don't forget shipping, customs entries, foreign exchange costs. As a general rule, these are going to make UK sources more competitive for you.

Some UK dealers even have bricks and mortar premises which you can visit and collect from (subject to Covid restrictions). so do some none UK sources, but slightly more inconvenient because of travel.

We now have the White Horse on our site, for pre-order (or notify when in stock)

Just checking various sellers it looks as if there is very little difference in price between Chards, BullionbyPost and the Royal Mint for a 1 oz Platinum QB White Horse.
Typical margin over spot is 11.25% plus 20% VAT
The lowest priced EU coin was 15% over spot but it would cost 20% in VAT importing it, so works out more expensive.
Ditto from the USA with an 11% margin but also VAT, more expensive shipping and handling fees.
