What was your cheapest / best deal for a gold coin in 2020 Pandemic year

My favorite pickup this year was a Boxed Proof 2017 Pistrucci full sovereign which got stuck in a Jewellery shop during the first lockdown after I said I would like to buy it.

The price I paid when lockdown finished was £330 . The original pre lockdown price was £315 😅

Nothing to rival that - well done!

Best/cheapest gold I have managed in 2020 is:

3 x H&B 2020sovereigns at £279 each, delivered

A 2020 double sovereign at £619 delivered

A 2020 Oriental Border Britannia at £1307 delivered

Everything else made out of gold and bought this year has been somewhat more expensive!

Erm.. earlier this year I ordered a bullion 2012 sov from Bairds for £370 and they sent me what eventually turned out to be a PF70 proof. I got very, very lucky.

Now I'd want more than £800 for it.

2020 gold sovs at 333 from Atkinsons during the recent dip.

Also some pre owned sovs at 339 from Britannia coin company back in early Nov when the price was higher making it a good deal at the time.

2017 plain rim (raw) for £450

PF70 First releases 2017 sov for £425 - with tremendous help from @CadmiumGreen👍 🇺🇸

The best 'deal' was TSF (gold) premium membership... which allowed participation to the Xmas raffle... which led to an insanely lucky 1/10oz gold Eagle prize win from @Lr103  🎅🎁

Logged in to Atkinsons in May to buy a 2020 1oz gold Brit (for £1,475) and came away with this for an extra £75! - I still think someone got a 'disapproving look' from their manager for pricing this one up 😜

It remains my one and only 1oz gold proof, has mintage of 500 and is real beauty.
