Hi

I’ve created an order from Silberling.de and they have sent me an invoice. I’m not sure what to do with it! I was expecting a bank transfer but they have not provided a sort code to go with the account number and my bank will not allow me to transfer using the details I have.

Has anybody else ordered before from Germany to U.K. before and could help?

thanks!

Yes, i have made orders from germany many times.

You just need the IBAN to make a transfer.

And put the order code in the message.

I noticed that some people from the UK dont know what a IBAN nr is, its the code for country/bank/account all togheter into 1 long number.

And you need a IBAN nr , to make a transfer between two countries.

Its not the same like you make a national transfer inside UK, were you only need a bank account nr.

If you are ordering in a currency which you do not hold an account in, i.e. you have a GBP account but sending in EURO, then It may be a good idea to look at transferwise or currencyfair.

The transferwise app is very good and easy to use, and you can send a transfer and then pay from a UK debit card. The exchange rates are usually much better than using a high street bank :)

Agreed on Transferwise - very slick service and much better than using a bank both in terms of speed and cost. Never had a problem with them.

To put it into context, sending money to another country was a royal pain with Barclays - should be basic and easy but it was not....
