Thanks for sharing- and congratulations on gathering them all up, what a Kilo- each and every one of them a sought after coin, I'm guessing this was no accident 😉- as John Peel said of the first Undertones LP:  'there's no fillers here' 👍 😄

Teenage dreams so hard to beat. ❤️

I think your absolutely right, this little lot will be a difficult flip come the time.

Therein lies the dilemma.

Should we keep hold of our gold coins we hold dearest to us “until death we part” knowing full well that they won’t be a difficult flip whatsoever for whoever inherits them?

Or do we say farewell to them in our own lifetime and sell them with regret until wasting the cash and going outwith a bang on wine, women and song (or whatever floats your boat)?

Thoughts anyone?

An envious collection. Well done @richatthecroft. I notice that your 1989 and 2017 quintuple sovs appear to be BU’s whereas the smaller varieties for those years are all proofs. Have you ever held then sold the PROOF quintuples or are you content with purely collecting the BU versions?

I think you may agree that the 2017 Deep Proof Like quintuple has just as beautiful a finish on its reverse as the actual 2017 proofs sitting alongside it. The only real difference being in the BU finish on the obverse side of the coin of course.

Congrats Richatthecroft on you're, hope to be first gold milestone.

You have exceptional collection. Well done.

p.s.  I have bought from you my first Libertad gold coin and, in a way you made me addicted to them.

Ha!  They are quite moreish- not such a bad thing to get addicted to 😃

There is something about them all right. If I may ask,  where is the best place to buy them? forum?

In my country there isn't bullion dealer who has them.

Sorry on newbie question.

The premiums are high in terms of backdating.  Perhaps put a ‘wanted’ ad up in the sales section- but you might be best to await new releases- keep your eyes peeled at the dealers, Atkinsons usually stock the Bu, as do GS.be.  German dealers to buy the Proof- Rosland & EMK and APMEX from the USA.

I would like to own the proof 5 Pounds- but outside of my budget- the 1989 5 Pound was a compromise, the 2017 was a nice find from Atkinsons in March this year- cost less than release price- lovely 5 Pound Sovereign.

Thanks for advice. I will keep my eyes for them.
