I must admit I don't Visit atkinsons very often, but just noticed they are selling VAT free silver second hand under the second hand margins scheme.

 

no stock as of now, but I have yet to see any other UK based dealers do this so props to Atkinsons for moving with the times.

I've bought some vat free silver britannias from them

recently. all 2015s, brand new from what I can see.

(I'm not sure how they qualify as second hand margins

scheme, i was expecting/hoping for mostly pre 2015)

unless you get rounds it could be similar to resale of

stg stock.

I'm guessing they order from germany themselfs so technically its secondhand?

Worth watching but you might receive rounds and when you compare best prices ....

I once purchased brand new coins and secondhand coins from a coin dealer and the invoice showed VAT on the new coins and zero VAT on the used coins.

However the price per ounce was exactly the same !!

For clarification by way of a simple example the new coin was £10 plus 20% VAT = £12 and the same coin ( but secondhand ) was £12 plus 0% VAT = £12

To be honest I doubt I will use this as coins from germany are more competitive still, but it's definitely a step in the right direction:)

Been checking on and off with no luck, always sold out, link not working now. Anyone get anything? Spent elsewhere so bit late for me but I like the unlikely prospect of the odd Panda or two

turning up unexpected. Could never resist a lucky dip.
