Insured Shipping UK - Not Special Delivery

I have been looking for a cost effective insured shipping provider in the UK and keep coming up with nothing... I know RM Special Delivery is available up to £2.5k and of course you can send multiple parcels if the value exceeds this, but it's far from ideal. I have noticed Fedex being used and some Auction houses charge a % premium to insure with them. However, when I have looked into this, Fedex explicitly state that they do not accept collectable coins (they class them as an ITEM UNACCEPTABLE FOR CARRIAGE) so therefore whether or not you pay for the insurance they wouldn't be covered anyway (see attached T&C's)

Can anyone confirm this and or offer any other insured services that I can look into...

Many thanks in advance. Karl

The key phrase in their terms is “unless otherwise agreed to by FedEx”.

I would imagine businesses such as auction houses have FedEx business accounts with the relevant agreements in place.

For private individuals there is nothing out there other than Special Delivery that I’m aware of.

Some stuff I have sold, not gold and the like, i have travelled to were they are, or them to me. If it's short or an easy trip, one bloke brought a bass, he and his wife made a day of it going to somewhere they hadn't been to before.

I enjoy how their #1 not suitable item for transport is... 'MONEY'. Placing ahead of 'EXPLOSIVES' in 2nd and 'HUMAN CORPSES' in 3rd.

Clearly their legal team have their priorities in order 😂
