As a long time fanboy of the game I have a weakness for MK stuff but I also think the coin looks pretty well and the packaging gives it a nice touch.

Still pretty pricey though

Not what I would have expected, nor what I would have done personally.  I would have done them as a series, each character getting their own coin, and the final coin in the series being the Mortal Kombat logo with the colourised background and coming in an arcade shaped box that the entire series of coins could be stored and displayed in - the character coins I would keep just plain silver.  Basically I'd try and milk the franchise as much as possible, after all people who are starting to stack precious metals or just getting into precious metals nowadys probably grew up playing Mortal Kombat since it was first released, what better way to attract them to precious metals than buy using themes like computer games to push them over the edge and actually get them to start investing in precious metals, even if the premiums are high - the person who talked me into buying a PS4 for example buys the spacial edition of the games he plays that comes with merchindise like statues of the games characters and these versions cost as much as ten times what the regular release of the game costs and there is no shortage of people willing to spend that kind of money on these special edition versions of games.

true but for example The Simpsons Series came out with their "best" coin right away also.

Maybe they are testing the waters first?

I did not even thought about a series but I would be very happy if they do one tbh. Pretty sure they would have me on the hook there
