Anyone have any idea how much I'm going to get stung for charges?

Depends what they wrote on the customs form.   

It is supposed to be something like 20% VAT + Import charges (if applicable) + RM handling fee of around £10 or so (This is different amount if delivered by FedEx)

It is calculated on the whole value, including the declared shipping cost.

I've done an online calculation . It certainly kills your pennies.

Used SGB quite a few times. Pretty quick with the delivery, normally about a week after payment clears, provided items are in stock!

They always use FedEx and I have never got away with customs charges with these guys. FedEx normally ring when your parcel is ready for delivery and ask that you pay the charges before they will deliver. A couple of times they have delivered and then billed me a couple of weeks later.

Minimum postage charge seems to be about £40 with SGB, so you need to be ordering quite a bit to make it worthwhile.

Hopefully you only bought rounds and bars which would have been subject to VAT anyway.

You are almost 99.99% certain to be charged.

Silver Shield produce them and SGB sell them.

Silver Shield is owned by a guy called Chris Duane who originally set up Silver Bullet Silver Shield but then had a major fallout with the people he was involved with. Not sure of the details? He set up Silver Shield and then went to court to stop the Silver Bullet Silver Shield brand being used.

When you said SGB I thought you were referring to South Gippsland Bullion who run group buys from Australia. And have had rounds minted for them as well.

FWIW I have never heard of SGB before only the Australian SGB.

 

FYI I have full sets of the SGB S-O-D including the D/O, ETA next week, so EOA by PM ASAP!
