squashed 1/4 britannia proof - error coin?

Hi,

While checking on some coins i noticed that a 1/4oz britannia proof was faintly double stamped, and then found it was stuck in it's capsule.

After breaking it out with some pliers, i found it had been squashed too.

Looking for opinions on whether the error adds any additional value as an oddity, or does it remain just a squashed britannia at spot'ish?

Thanks.

If it were mine, I'd be taking the opportunity in cashing it out at Spot right now- but what do I know- maybe list it on eBay as an  'error' 'rare' coin?

thanks, might as well keep if still just bullion, i want more not less. :)

I wouldn't say it's an error coin, more a reflection of the Mint's poor quality control.

It's still worth its weight though 👍

What year is it?

Thanks, it's a 2005.

Oh, that's a shame.

I hope you bought it right and not paid a premium.

The 'double stamping' is curious isn't it?

appreciate the comments, i'm fine with it as was only ~4% over spot last year.

no real interest in selling, agree probably worth a punt on ebay as a rarity, if i could be faffed.

that said though, feel free to pm a persuasive offer for a "unique" coin. :)

cheers.
