@Bxlsteve Plans yes, but whether we will be able to is another question.

Edinburgh Assay Office is closed right now, if it opens in a decent time frame before the end of the year then yes we will crack on!

Sorry I don't mean to be rude but how to you calculate  value of this item? Is it worth near enough spot? 6 oz of silver at say £13 (over spot price) is £78.

Excuse my ignorance if this comment is out of place, its a genuine question from a new naive in the world of silver.

Is this not just poured silver and thus is worth near enough spot? 6 oz of silver at say £13 (over spot price) is £78.

Excuse my ignorance. How can you put a price on one person's pouring of silver?

Hand-poured silver is considered by many to be very collectable and often commands a premium over spot, to account for the skill (and popularity :) ) of the silversmith...

In this specific case, the master pourer is a bit of a legend of this forum, with these numbered pieces being reserved year-after-year by the same people.

You can check out more of his work on his YouTube Channel

What Darren said, also the time taken to create, the post to get them to and from the assay office and the hallmarking fees.

@AndrewSL76 do you want to bid on your #49 back?

Thanks for alerting me to this! I flipping love BYB Silver but have a very different outlook on my stack at the moment. Maybe I will change my mind over night. These little rounds are bloomin’ delicious.

@Silverman2U I totally get where you are coming from. Why would anyone pay such an amount for weight of Silver? The answer is in the bids placed on these items. BYB is special. Look at this YouTube. If you can get hold of a 1oz bar or perhaps a 100g bar, go for it. These things will continue to rise in worth as more and more people discover him and his beautiful business.

If you don’t want a bar, then get a T-shirt! They’re nifty!!
